2009/2010 NHL Season

Being a Canadian, this means I'm naturally addicted to hockey. Basic questions here are:

- Who are the teams you are rooting for?
- Who do you think has the best chance at the Stanley Cup?
- Favourite players?


The teams I am rooting for are the Calgary Flames (go local go), Vancouver Canucks, Detroit Red Rings, Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, and the North Carolina Hurricanes.

Best shot at the Stanley cup? The Flames, of course. But this is based on their new coaches, mainly Brent Sutter and Dave Lowry. We've been lacking a quality coach since Daryl left the spot years ago. I also hate to say this, but I think the Pittsburgh Penguins also have a shot at being repeat champions, as much as I despise the team.

Favourite players? Man, this hasn't changed for me one bit over the last few years. Ovechkin, Iginla, Luongo, Lavaliere and some more that I can't think of right now. (too early)

So that's it. Any of you Brits into the NHL by any chance?

Can't say that I've heard of any of those names before . Over here in the UK we don't get any real coverage of American/Canadian sports which is a shame as I used to love playing the old ice hockey games on my sega. Hope your team does well this season.

I'm sure they will. They've been suffering from some seriously bad coaching over the past few years, but now we have two purely kickass coaches, as well as some all-star players, including one of the best players of all time, Jarome Iginla. And that's not fanboy speech, he truly is one of the top ten best.

So I think we'll do pretty damn good.

Sounds a bit like whats happening at the football club I support Aston Villa. For years the club was run by bad management but recently got taken over by a guy named Randy Learner, you may have heard of him he also owns the Cleveland Browns. Got a 1st class manager now, with a young and talented squad of up and coming players hoping for a really good season too.

Sounds good. And nope, never heard of him. I don't follow football, it's much to slow/boring to watch. I like playing it though, it's one of the cheapest and easiest sports to play. Get a ball, a pitch, some friends, maybe beer, and have at er'.
